Engineering
The engineering and know-how of this unique sheet
steel, self-supporting arch has evolved from the original Wonder Building. From
its very beginnings in the early 1950s, engineers have gathered
valid strength information about this building panel. Controlled testing led
to the development of the three standard arch panels as well as
the development of the one, two, and three radius buildings. Current engineering is
supported by a proprietary arch design and engineering program maintained
by American Shelter Technologies.
Major engineering firms in the United States including Brown
& Root, Morrison-Knutson, Stone & Webster, Sterns-Roger,
and The Bechtel Group as well as the U.S. Air Force,
the U.S. Navy, NASA, Boeing Aerospace, Lockhead
Aerospace, and several departments of Energy Facilities have
evaluated our engineering data. They have always concurred with
our data.
American Shelter has designed over 400 standard building
models and can design and engineer additional building models to
meet specific or unusual shelter needs. We work closely with architects,
engineers, designers and building owners, focusing on their needs
and finding economical and durable solutions to their shelter problems.
Continual product development, quality manufacturing, and the
flexibility, strength, and design potential of the Wonder Arch Building
System has made it the Leader in Arch Building Applications for
over 50 years.
